India To Buy Three Warships From Russia

July 6, 2006 -- India will buy three warships from Russia for $1.14 billion.

Defense Minister Prahab Mukherjee said the first frigate would be delivered five years after the formal signing of an agreement.

He said the government also approved the purchase of equipment for the frigates and 28 submarine-launched cruise missiles.
