Kazakhstan Proposes Hosting International Religious Center


Forum on religious freedom and tolerance in Astana, September 12 2006 (Bymedia.net) September 13, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev today called for the creation of an international center for the study of world cultures and religions in Astana, the Kazakh capital.

Nazarbaev said the proposed center could help foster dialogue between world religious and political leaders.

Nazarbaev was addressing an international forum on religious freedom and tolerance in Astana.
