German Chancellor Wraps Up Talks In Poland

March 17, 2007 -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Polish President Lech Kaczynski wrapped up talks today aimed at improving relations between the neighboring countries.

The two leaders held talks on March 16 and this morning, but no details of the discussions were made public.

On March 16, in an address to Warsaw students, Merkel urged Poland not to block the European constitution.

Merkel has made reviving the constitution a key part of Germany's current tenure as EU president, but Warsaw has urged the EU to abandon that effort.
