Russia, EU Fail To Resolve Polish Meat Ban

Russian consumers still won't be eyeing Polish meat (ITAR-TASS) April 22, 2007 -- Russia and the European Union have failed to reach agreement to end a Russian ban on Polish meat imports.

The announcement follows two days of talks between EU Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou and Russian Agriculture Minister Aleksei Gordeyev at the Cypriot resort of Limassol.

The Russian ban has led Poland to block talks between the EU and its main energy supplier on a new strategic-partnership accord.
