Boeing, Aeroflot Sign Billion-Dollar Deal

(ITAR-TASS) June 9, 2007 -- The Russian air carrier Aeroflot has signed a deal with U.S. manufacturer Boeing to purchase 22 Dreamliner midsize aircraft.

The deal, worth billions of dollars, was signed today in St. Petersburg, where Russian officials are hosting an international economic forum.

Delivery of the Dreamliners 787 is due to begin in 2014. The deal has been long under discussion, but appeared to hit difficulties during recent chilly relations between Moscow and Washington.
