Moscow, April 19 (RFE/RL) - The Russian State Duma today ratified a key agreement on closer political and economic integration with Belarus.
Our correspondent quotes Duma deputies as saying that 372 deputies voted for ratification.
The treaty, which was agreeded to earlier this month, calls for closer links between the economies and political systems of the two countries.
The Duma also ratified another treaty forming closer ties with Kazakhstan, Belarus and Kyrghyzstan. Our correspondent says 365 Duma members ratified that treaty which was signed last March in Moscow.
