Baku, 13 February 1997 (RFE/RL) - NATO Secretary General Javier Solana has arrived in Baku for a two-day visit. In a brief arrival statement, Solana said that he will discuss bilateral relations and security issues during his talks with Azerbaijani leaders.
Solana added that the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute should be resolved, according to negotiating guidelines set by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Solana has met officials of Azerbaijan's Foreign and Defense Ministries, and is scheduled to hold talks with President Heydar Aliev.
