Bucharest, April 13 (RFE/RL) -- Leaders of Romania's ruling coalition said today that Prime Minister-designate Radu Vasile's reform program marks the end of months of political crisis.
Democrat leader Petre Roman said the coalition has reached full accord on the program. He made the remark after talks with Vasile.
The Democrats are the second largest party in the centrist coalition led by Vasile's National Peasant Party Christian Democratic. The bloc also includes Liberals and ethnic Hungarians.
Vasile was appointed after Prime Minister Victor Ciorbea resigned two weeks ago to end months of wrangling which halted overdue market reforms and paralyzed the government.
Vasile is expected to win parliament's approval for his cabinet lineup and government program during a session scheduled for Wednesday. Later today, he is expected to present his draft program, which sets privatization and restructuring of big utilities among top reform priorities.
