Moscow; 27 May 1999 (RFE/RL) - Russia's Balkans envoy, Viktor
Chernomyrdin, held more talks in Moscow today with U.S. and EU mediators on
the Kosovo crisis. There are conflicting reports on whether Chernomyrdin
will make a scheduled trip to Belgrade later today to meet Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic. But Chernomyrdin's aide Anatoly Gotilov said the Russian envoy still planned leaving for Belgrade.
This morning's extra round of talks in Moscow were scheduled after media reports yesterday that the International War Crimes Tribunal at The Hague plans to formally announce today that Milosevic has been indicted for war crimes.
