My husband and I headed out to the Nabada checkpoint to see what the Russian soldiers were doing. But before we could even approach the Russian positions, Georgian police advised us not to get too close; they said they couldn't guarantee our security and reminded us of the incidents of rough treatment of interlopers by Russian troops.
I followed their advice. But from what I could see, the tents are still up, there are still quite a few armored vehicles, and the helicopter is still there.
