Azerbaijan Unfurls Huge National Flag

With much pomp, the Azerbaijani government has unfurled a huge new flag, one of the largest in the world. (Watch the video above.) According to the AzerTAC agency, it's 70 meters high and 35 wide, a whopping great 2,450 square meters.

From AzerTAC:

The national flag was brought to the square. The President raised the flag as a military orchestra played Azerbaijan`s national anthem.

The flag-raising ceremony featured a documentary film about the construction of the National Flag Square and the role of the national flag in establishing and strengthening of the national solidarity.

The event ended with a superb laser-show and fireworks.

The Israelis apparently have the biggest, though. More photos and videos here.
