Venezuela's Hugo Chavez In Pictures

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez died on March 5 after a long battle with cancer. The autocratic populist fiercely criticized the United States and allied himself with Fidel Castro and other fellow leftists. The outspoken leader, who was a hero to Venezuela's poor, sought to remake Venezuela into a socialist state, but left with many citizens still facing poverty despite the country's huge oil wealth.
