Armenian Teen Demands 'Right To A Good Life'

To mark the UN-sponsored International Day Against Child Labor, RFE/RL’s Armenian Service spoke to one working child who is determined to change his situation. Fourteen-year-old Hovhannes Harutyunian loads trucks and collects scrap metal to help support his large family, who live in a crumbling Yerevan apartment. But he wants his country’s leaders to acknowledge their desperate economic situation and help them make a better life for themselves. (Video by Hasmik Smbatian, RFE/RL's Armenian Service)
