Gunmen Attack Politician's Convoy In Quetta, Killing Nine
Gunmen fired on the vehicle of a politician driving past worshippers leaving a mosque after Eid prayers on August 9, killing nine people and injuring 27 in the southwestern Pakistan city of Quetta. The politician, a former provincial minister, escaped unharmed. The attack follows a suicide bombing in Quetta on August 8, in which 30 people were killed, mainly police officers, during a policeman's funeral. (Reuters)
