Rally In Barcelona Calls For Spanish Unity

Tens of thousands of demonstrators packed central Barcelona on October 8 to protest calls for independence in Spain's Catalonia region, a week after its autonomous administration held a unilaterally declared independence referendum. A group that organized the anti-independence rally -- the Societat Civil Catalana -- claimed that some 950,000 people took part in the march.
