An Afghan Obama Is Born

A family in Kabul have named their only baby son after U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama.

Barak Hossein's father, Mohammad Qambari, told Radio Free Afghanistan that he chose the name to express the friendship between the Afghan and American people.

Qambari added that while watching the U.S. president's inauguration on January 20, he decided to give Obama's name to his son.

He also said that at the time of Obama's inauguration ceremony, his son was about one month old and he had already named him as Maisam.

Qambari added that he would try his best to provide his son with every possible means of education and wished that his little Afghan Barak Hossein would one day become as famous a politician as the American Barack Obama.
