MOSCOW -- The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has announced that all charges have been dropped against Moscow Deputy Mayor Aleksandr Ryabinin, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

Ryabinin, who supervises investment and business contracts in the Russian capital, was accused of forcing a businessman to sign over a nonresidential building in Moscow to his daughter by means of a fraudulent contract.

The Prosecutor's Office Investigative Department opened a criminal case into the incident earlier this month.

Prosecutors said they decided to drop the charges due to a lack of evidence.
