PRAGUE (Reuters) -- Leaders of the main Czech political parties have agreed to form an interim cabinet to run the Central European country until early elections on October 9-10, outgoing Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek said.

He said he would propose Jan Fischer, head of the Czech Statistics Office, to lead the caretaker cabinet.

Topolanek's minority center-right government was defeated in a no-confidence vote on March 24, halfway through the country's six-month European Union presidency.
