Georgia Hunts Border Guard After Three Found Dead

TBILISI (Reuters) -- Three Georgian border guards were found dead near the border with Turkey and police said they were looking for a fourth guard who had gone missing.

"There has not been any cross-border incident," said Georgian Interior Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili. "The fourth guard is missing," he added.

The guards were found shot dead in the village of Adigeni near the former Soviet republic's border with Turkey.

Local media reports said roads near Adigeni had been sealed off and police were hunting for the missing guard. Georgian television said police believed the fourth guard had killed the other three and fled the scene.

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
