Iranian media reports that Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki is meeting the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, today in Vienna to discuss a United Nations-backed fuel exchange plan.
Manuchehr Mottaki's meeting comes amid increased pressure from Washington to impose a fourth round of UN sanctions on Iran over the Islamic Republic's disputed nuclear program.
Iran says its program is peaceful but western governments fear it is being used to make a bomb.
The UN plan -- in which Iran would swap its low-level enriched uranium for higher-grade fuel enriched abroad -- has previously been rejected by Iran.
But Mottaki said today that his talks with Amano will be "decisive and detailed."
Iranian nuclear official Ali Akbar Salehi said Mottaki is also expected to meet with all 15 members of the UN Security Council.
