Kyrgyz Police Reportedly Search Opposition Party Office

NARYN, Kyrgyzstan -- Activists of the opposition Ata-Meken (Fatherland) party say that police have searched the party's office in the Kyrgyz city of Naryn.

The party’s youth branch leader in the Naryn region, Erlan Askarov, told RFE/RL’s Kyrgyz Service that three police officers searched the office in the afternoon on March 3.

But Naryn regional police chief Tursunbek Talipov told RFE/RL that the report about the search is untrue.
