Police In Bishkek Detain Protesters


BISHKEK -- Police in Bishkek have detained several young protesters in front of the main government building, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

The protesters, called "25" and led by Maksim Kuleshov, tried to address President Kurmanbek Bakiev, but the action was stopped by police.

The protesters were taken to Bishkek's Birinchi-May District's police station.
