Russia's Porcelain Pantheon


Kasparov.ru says porcelain busts of Russian leaders have reached clamoring mobs of kitsch-starved shoppers in Yakutsk.

They include likenesses of President Dmitry Medvedev and, of course, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The website notes that the Putin bust costs nearly 200 rubles ($6.70) more than Medvedev's.

A shopkeeper quoted in the article says busts of Stalin and poet Sergei Yesenin were bought up immediately, but no one is buying Putin or Medvedev yet...
