MINSK -- Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka and his Ukrainian counterpart, Viktor Yushchenko, have signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation in the energy sector, RFE/RL's Belarus Service reports.
The memorandum aims to diversify the sources of and integrate the countries' energy markets.
The leaders signed the agreement in the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv.
They said the two countries' prime ministers will meet soon to discuss implementation of the agreements.
