Deaths Reported In Attack On Shia In Pakistan's Quetta

At least five people are reported to have been killed in a shooting attack in Pakistan targeting members of the country's minority Shi'ite Muslim community.

The attack is reported to have occurred in the southwestern city of Quetta on May 6.

Reports quoting police said the attackers opened fire with rockets and guns on a group of people.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility, but police are quoted as saying it appears to have been a sectarian attack.

Sunni Muslim militants have previously targeted members of the Shi'ite minority, whom they view as heretics.
