Ismayilova: 'Azerbaijan's Corruption Turned Out To Be Contagious'

Azerbaijani journalist Khadija Ismayilova on September 5 spoke with Current Time TV, the Russian-language network run by RFE/RL in cooperation with VOA, about the investigative report called The Azerbaijani Laundromat. Ismayilova, who is also a contributor to RFE/RL, was a co-author of the report published by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). The document alleges that Azerbaijan's ruling elite operated a secret $2.9 billion slush fund for two years to pay off European politicians and make luxury purchases.
