Azerbaijani Diaspora Leader In Hospital After Attack In Kyiv

The leader of the United Congress of Ukraine's Azerbaijani diaspora, Rovshan Tagiev, was seriously wounded in an apparent assassination attempt in Kyiv.

Media in Azerbaijan quoted Tagiev's relatives and colleagues as saying that unknown individuals in a car without license plates shot Tagiev in downtown Kyiv on May 14.

The assailants fled the scene.

The car they used in the attack was later found elsewhere in Kyiv after it was set on fire.

Tagiev was rushed to hospital with a shoulder wound. His current condition is reported as critical but stable.
