Russian Boxer Suffers Head Injuries At European Games

A Russian boxer has suffered injuries to the head and been taken to hospital after competing at the European Games in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku.

Russian boxer Gasan Gimbatov was injured during his gold medal bout against Britain's Joe Joyce.

Gimbatov won silver in the super heavyweight division but was unable to attend the medal ceremony having been taken to hospital for scans after he was struck with a string of powerful blows in the second round of his defeat by Joyce.

Gimbatov was being kept overnight for observation.
