MONDAY, October 4:

Azerbaijan: Co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group conduct field assessment mission in the territories around Nagorno-Karabakh (to October 14).

Belarus: Political situation in Belarus to be discussed at a Council of Europe NGO conference (to October 6).

EU/Azerbaijan: The next EU-Azerbaijan plenary meeting on the Association Agreement opens in Brussels (to October 5).

Russia/Ukraine: Ukrainian-Russian Economic Forum, with participation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych, takes place in Gelendzhik, Russia.

UN: World Habitat Day.

TUESDAY, October 5:

Russia: Sochi hosts international security conference. U.S. national security adviser General James Jones attends a security conference.

Serbia: Tenth anniversary of former President Slobodan Milosevic's fall from power in a popular uprising.

UNESCO: World Teachers Day.

WEDNESDAY, October 6:

Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev pays an official visit to Algeria.

THURSDAY, October 7:

Kazakhstan: Astana hosts the first Kazakhstan International Halal Expo 2010 exhibition.

Russia: Moscow hosts the World Thematic Conference of Compatriots (to October 8).

Russia: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev visits the Republic of Cyprus (to October 7).

Ukraine: French President Nicolas Sarkozy meets Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in Paris.

World: Bulgarian capital hosts the forum of former European leaders headed by ex-Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

FRIDAY, October 8:

Kazakhstan: Launch of three-man Russian-American crew from Baikonur, Kazakhstan.

OSCE: Autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly opens in Palermo (to October 11).

SUNDAY, October 10:

Kyrgyzstan: Parliamentary elections.

Serbia: Belgrade plans to hold first Pride Parade since 2001‎.

World: Prague hosts the 14th Forum 2000, attended by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi and many other distinguished guests (to October 12).

World: World Day Against the Death Penalty.
