BISHKEK -- An explosion at a fireworks store at the Dordoi market in Bishkek has caused a large-scale fire, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.
Fire Fighting Agency officials told RFE/RL on August 4 that five brigades of firefighters were working to extinguish the blaze (see video report in Kyrgyz).
No casualties have been reported. The store is situated very close to the Kelechek residential area.
Dordoi is one of the largest markets in Central Asia.
