Iran's Supreme Leader Says Not Against Extension Of Nuclear Talks

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says he is not against the extension of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers.

Khamenei's official website on November 27 quoted him as saying: "For the same reasons I wasn't against negotiations, I'm also not against the extension."

Khamenei also said that the United States, not Iran, would be the biggest loser should the nuclear talks fail.

Iran and the United States, France, Germany, Britain, and Russia failed to meet a November 24 deadline to secure a comprehensive deal to resolve their 12-year standoff over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

Instead, the sides have given themselves until the end of June for further negotiations.

Iran denies it is secretly developing a nuclear weapons program as the West suspects.
