Police say the deadliest of the May 5 attacks took place when a car bomb exploded near a restaurant frequented by members of the security forces in Tuz Khormato, killing three people, including two soldiers, and wounding 17 others.
Tuz Khormato is about 200 kilometers north of Baghdad.
Police said gunmen shot dead an Industry Ministry employee in a drive-by shooting on a highway in eastern Baghdad.
Also, gunmen killed an off-duty policeman as he was walking near his house in the Baiyaa neighborhood in western Baghdad.
In Karmah, just north of Fallujah, the capital of the restive western Anbar Province, two people were killed by mortar shells.
