A short time later, a bomb went off at a bus station in Sadr City, killing 10 and wounding 31.
Earlier in the day, a bomb exploded near playground equipment set up for celebrations to mark the four-day Eid al-Adha celebrations.
That attack in Baghdad's eastern neighborhood of Bawiya killed eight people, according to police, including four children. Another 24 were injured.
Elsewhere, a bomb attached to a bus carrying Iranian Shi'ite pilgrims killed five people and wounded nine.
