Iran has called Israeli allegations that it was responsible for last week's suicide bombing of a bus carrying Israeli tourists in Bulgaria "baseless."

Speaking at a UN Security Council debate on the Mideast on July 25, Iran’s UN Ambassador Mohammad Khazaee accused Israel of carrying out the attack, in which five Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian bus driver were killed.

Israel's Deputy UN ambassador Haim Waxman called the accusation "appalling but not surprising from the same government that says the September 11, 2001, attack was a conspiracy theory and denies the Holocaust."

Waxman said Iran's fingerprints were all over the attack in Bulgaria, as well as dozens of other plots in recent months around the world.
