Six Bodies Discovered After Almaty Fire


ALMATY, Kazakhstan -- Six bodies have been found after a massive fire at a business center in Kazakhstan's largest city, Almaty.

The Almaty City Emergency Department said one body was recovered at Almaty Towers on November 6, the day of the fire. Five more bodies were discovered in the building's sixth floor on November 7.

Rescue teams are searching for more bodies.

The fire, which damaged some 1,800 square meters, was extinguished around 8:30 local time on November 6.

Investigators were working to identify the victims and the causes of the fire.

The center housed the Kazakh stock exchange's trade and information structures, which moved their operations to another site on November 7.
