OSH, Kyrgyzstan -- Some 200 protesters have blocked the Osh-Batken highway in southern Kyrgyzstan, demanding investigations into the death of a local policeman in custody.

Aibek Eshbaev, 46, was arrested by the State Committee for National Security this month on allegations of bribery and extortion.

He was found hanged in his cell on February 13.

Eshbaev's relatives and friends say they do not believe that he committed suicide and demand a thorough and transparent investigation into his death.
