Kyrgyz Man Arrested For Allegedly Forging Documents For Terrorists

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz authorities have launched investigations against a man suspected of forging documents for terrorists.

Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security (UKMK) said on February 19 that a 36-year-old resident of the southern Osh region was arrested after investigators found a number of forged documents in his house.

Kyrgyz national passports, military certificates, and birth certificates were among the documents.

Photos and forged identification papers of a citizen of Uzbekistan, who had been earlier convicted in Kyrgyzstan for terrorism, were among the discovered items.

Also, sophisticated equipment used to forge documents was confiscated from the suspect's house.

The suspect is currently detained in the UKMK’s detention center.
