Police say the owner of the workshop and his employees were modifying air rifles so they could be used as assault rifles. They discovered the workshop on January 23.
Osh Oblast Interior Affairs Department head Pamir Asanov told RFE/RL that two suspects were detained and a large quantity of guns and ammunition confiscated from the workshop.
Authorities have begun an investigation.
