RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service reports that pro-Russian forces are preparing to storm a navy base in Novoozerny, Western Crimea. A spokesman for Ukraine's defense ministry says they intend to use a tractor to ram the gates.

Schools in the Lviv region have taken in almost 100 children who fled Crimea with their families. RFE/RL's Ukrainian service reports more than 770 Crimean refugees have already found shelter in the Lviv region.

Serhiy Hayduk was named the Ukrainian Navy's commander in chief after Denis Berezovsky defected to the Russian side early this month. Now he appears to have been abducted in Sevastopol after the raid on navy headquarters by pro-Russians.
Self-defense guys say that Ukrainian Navy chief Sergei Haiduk tried to hide but was captured and taken away by Russian secret services.
