British Prime Minister David Cameron has urged people to use the Arabic acronym for the IS group, Daesh, instead of the English acronyms ISIL, ISIS or IS.

Daesh is the Arabic equivalent of ISIS or ISIL, the Islamic State of Iraq in al-Sham or the Levant, an older name for IS before it declared its "caliphate" last year.

Russia has also begun to use the Russian equivalent of Daesh, ДАИШ, rather than IS.

Not everyone believes that referring to IS as Daesh will make any difference to the group, however.

And analyst Michael Horowitz joked about Cameron's call to refer to IS by their Arabic acronym:

Russia's TASS news agency has details from the Defense Ministry regarding its claims of proof that IS oil is being transported to and via Turkey.

The Defense Ministry has detailed three routes it says that IS uses to transport its oil, which it is calling the "Western route," the "Northern route" and the "Eastern route."

According to the Ministry, the "Western route" "goes to Turkish ports on the Mediterranean coast. Along this route, hydrocarbons produced around Raqqa are transported by road, especially at night, in northwestern Syria. Then through border towns Azaz (Syria) and Reyhanli (Turkey) to the Turkish ports of Dörtyol and İskenderun."

The Ministry has included a photograph, published by TASS, which it says was taken on November 13 near the Syrian border town of Azaz on the road connecting Turkey and Syria and on which it says that a "cluster of vehicles carrying oil products can be clearly seen."

The "Northern route" goes to the Batman oil refinery in Turkey, according to the Ministry, from oil fields on the right bank of the Euphrates river.

"One of the major centers of oil production and refining under IS control is the population center of Deir Ezzor. Here there are a large quantity of oil refining factories...In this region there is a permanent cluster of oil tankers waiting to load."

The Ministry provided satellite photographs that it claims were taken of the area around Deir Ezzor in October and which show a large number of tankers parked off road.

The "Eastern route," according to the Ministry, is used to transport oil to a transshipment base in Cizre in Turkey and allegedly runs from oil fields in northeastern Syria and northwestern areas of Iraq through Zakho (a town a few kilometers from the Iraq-Turkey border).

The Bataclan concert hall in Paris, where terrorists killed 90 people on November 13, could reopen by the end of the year, two of its owners have told French newspaper Le Monde.

A total of 130 people were killed in a series of coordinated attacks in Paris on November 13. The IS group later claimed responsibility.

Co-owners Jules Frutos and Olivier Poubelle own 30 percent of the venue. Two of their colleagues -- Nathalie Jardin and Thomas Duperron -- were among those killed in the terrorist attack.

Frutos said that the venue should reopen.

"It should not become a mausoleum. Or a site of pilgrimage," he said. AFP has translated more of the interview into English here.

The Russian Defense Ministry has posted an English transcript of a statement made at today's press briefing by deputy defense minister Anatoly Antonov.

Antonov accused Turkish President Erdogan of playing a role in reselling illegally traded oil from IS.

Illegal oil revenues are one of the main sources of income for the terrorists in Syria. According to some reports, they make about $2 billion a year on illegal oil trade.

Turkey is the main destination for the oil stolen from its legitimate owners, which are Syria and Iraq. Turkey resells this oil. The appalling part about it is that the country's top political leadership is involved in the illegal business — President Erdogan and his family.

The Turkish leadership has demonstrated extreme cynicism. Look at what they are doing! They have invaded the territory of another country and are brazenly plundering it. And if the hosts are standing in their way, they must be removed.

We understand that some of the Turkish leaders, notably Mr. Erdogan, will not step down and will not admit anything.

I would like to emphasize that Erdogan's resignation is not our goal. It’s up to the people of Turkey to decide.
