Members of Ukraine's IT community come together to record an appeal against war with Russia and to condemn the "military aggression" of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Crimea:
'We are a vast country and believe me, no one here wants a war. All we want is to build truly democratic country that will no longer remind of the Soviet Union."

Russian Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov spoke on April 5 on Russian television about suggestions that natural gas could be shipped to Ukraine from the United States:
"Where are these free [gas] capacities in the U.S. that they could readily ship? Also, it takes a huge tanker fleet to ship that amount of gas to the European market. Not only does such a fleet not exist, but there simply is no capacity to build it in any foreseeable future. Finally, what will be the price?

"This is the question [Ukrainians] are beginning to ask the Americans. They are trying to dodge it, saying something like, 'Yes, the price will certainly not be low, but this is your alternative [fuel] supply.' It is likely that such statements are aimed at propping up a European negotiating position against us, but it will hardly change our stance."
