Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has fired the country’s defense minister after he made a sexist remark to a female journalist.
Vucic said on December 7 that Bratislav Gasic “cannot stay," adding that "an apology is not enough" for the insult of the reporter.
He also said he will not tolerate "sexist insults" against women.
At a press event in the central Serbian town of Trstenik on December 7, Gasic saw a female television reporter crouching to keep the view clear for cameras waiting for him.
"I love it when female reporters kneel so easily," he said.
Gasic later apologized, saying in a tweet he "sincerely regretted" his "shameful and scandalous behavior."
