Ten Killed In Attacks Across Afghanistan

Afghan authorities say 10 people -- including five suicide attackers -- have been killed in violence across the country after the Taliban announced it has launched a spring offensive.

The deadliest attack on May 14 involved five militants wearing suicide vests who raided a border police outpost in southern Afghanistan.

Dawa Khan Minapal, spokesman for Kandahar’s provincial government, said three police were killed along with all five attackers.

On the east side of Kabul, an Afghan soldier was killed when a magnetic bomb attached to an Afghan National Army vehicle exploded.

Kabul’s police chief, General Mohammad Zahir Zahir, said a woman and a child were injured by the early morning blast.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for both attacks.

Meanwhile, in Ghazni Province, a rocket fired into a residential neighborhood of the provincial capital killed a woman and wounded a child.
