Ukrainian Refugees Forced To Leave Russia
Some Ukrainian refugees will have to leave Russia by February 1, under new rules imposed last autumn. There are exceptions for those from certain parts of war-torn eastern Ukraine, and others who have applied for and received permission to stay. It's not clear how many people need to pack their bags, but RFE/RL found fear and uncertainty among refugees in the southern Russian region of Rostov.

Ukrainian Maidan Film Bids For Oscar Glory
Winter on Fire, a documentary about Ukraine's 2013-14 upheaval that ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, has been nominated for this year's Oscars. The film tells the story of the "Maidan" protests through the eyes of a 12-year-old boy and other participants. Director Evgeny Afineevsky and music composer Jasha Klebe spoke to RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service in Kyiv.
