WikiLeaks' Assange In U.K. Court To Appeal Extradition Ruling

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has begun against extradition to Sweden to face rape allegations.

The 40-year-old Australian appeared at the High Court in London on July 12 seeking to overturn a ruling by a lower court in February in which a judge rejected his defense's arguments that he would face an unfair trial in Sweden.

The two-day hearing is Assange's second attempt to block the extradition order. Assange was arrested in December after two Swedish women accused him of sexual assault -- allegations he denies.

The allegations came as his whistle-blowing website was in the process of releasing a huge cache of leaked U.S. diplomatic cables. Assange says the charges against him are politically motivated.
