1 February 2006 -- Reports say at least eight people have been killed in an attack by a suicide bomber in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
At least 30 people are reported to have been injured in the blast.
Police said the victims were believed to include laborers who were waiting for work this morning.
Meanwhile, a report says U.S. troops in the capital mistakenly opened fire on a convoy of Canadian diplomats. The U.S. military said the convoy apparently failed to obey signals to stop. There were no injuries.
