India, Tajikistan Pledge To Boost Ties

Tajik President Imomali Rakhmonov on his arrival in New Delhi (epa) PRAGUE, August 7, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- The office of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said New Delhi and Dushanbe agreed to further develop bilateral ties in a number of areas, including industry, agriculture, and transportation.

Both sides also vowed to boost bilateral trade, which currently "does not correspond to [its] real potential," Singh's office says.


The pledge was made during a five-day visit to India by Tajik President Imomali Rakhmonov.
