September 12, 2006 -- Uzbekistan's Justice Ministry today ordered a Belgian nongovernmental organization to comply with national legislation within 30 days, or face closure.
The pro-government information website press-uz.info quotes a Justice Ministry official as saying the Uzbek authorities suspect the Damien Fondation Belgium of tax evasion.
