Judge In Hussein Trial Accused Of Bias

Saddam Hussein in court on September 12 (epa) September 13, 2006 -- The chief prosecutor in Saddam Hussein's genocide trial against the Kurds today demanded the presiding judge step down.

He accused him of being biased toward the deposed leader and his co-defendants.

The prosecutor, Munqith al-Faroon, shouted at judge Abdullah al-Amiri during the trial, that he "allowed this court to become a political podium for the defendants."

Judge al-Amiri dismissed the demand for his resignation.
