Parnaz Azima (file photo) (RFE/RL) May 15, 2007 (RFE/RL) -- Radio Farda broadcaster Nazi Azima appeared in Tehran's Revolutionary Court today and was freed on bail, Radio Farda reported.
The court's review of the case is scheduled to continue on May 20.

Azima's passport was confiscated upon her arrival at Tehran airport on January 25 to visit her ailing mother. She holds U.S. as well as Iranian citizenship.

Azima is a broadcaster with Radio Farda, the Persian-language service run jointly by RFE/RL and Voice of America.

RFE/RL President Jeffrey Gedmin has called on the Iranian authorities to allow Azima to leave "without further delay."
